6th NERC UK / European Moorings Group workshop (28-29 June 2012)
Following the technology forum the 6th NERC UK/ European Moorings Group workshop will be held on 28 and 29 June at BAS Cambridge. The meeting brings together a diverse range of people whose common interest is scientific moorings in order to share experiences, techniques and knowledge.
The NERC Mooring Group Workshop will start at 09.00 on Thursday 28 June.
Through a series of discussions and group meetings, the aims of the workshop include:
- Policy and legislation
- Examination of common failure modes
- Risk management issues
- A report on current technologies, practices and projects
Talks and Posters
As part of the moorings workshop, talks will be given on topics relevant to any mooring work and there will be a poster session for presentation of new ideas and applications.
You will have an opportunity to submit the title and abstract for your talk or poster when you register for the workshop. We would encourage you to submit your title and abstract then, although the abstract can be submitted at a later date. The deadline for the receipt of abstracts is Friday 11 May 2012.
Lunch and Conference DinnerThe event will include buffet lunch and refreshments. A workshop dinner to include pre-dinner drinks and wine will be held on Thursday 28th of June. The exact location will be decided once we know how many people wish to attend. The dinner will be free of charge thanks to the sponsorship of RS Aqua Ltd, MetOcean Data Systems (Canada) and Nautilus Marine Service (Germany).
