Report from the Swedish part of the Japanese Swedish Antarctic Expedition, JASE, 13-15 December
The storm we had was long lasting and intense and caused us a delay in our program. We are now driving along latitude 75 and are right now at 4 W heading towards the Kohnen station. The weather is now fine but we had to replace a broken gearbox today which is doable but time consuming and cold.
The soft snow in combination with the heavy load slows down the driving speed. We will compensate this by either put out more fuel depots or use long driving hours to catch up with our program.
