Sea Ice Day in Brazil: More feedback

More feedback from IPY's Sea Ice Day... this time from Brazil.

Miriam RC, a teacher at Colégio Puríssimo in Rio Claro in Brazil, writes:

I must tell you about the International Polar Day here in Brazil. It was fantastic! At Colégio Puríssimo, about 380 students between 15 and 17 years of age joined together in the school gym to sing a song composed for the planet by one of the girls (the song had been previously rehearsed during my classes).

Then some students and myself followed one of the chemistry teachers into the lab to do the ice experiment and learn more about sea ice. We were all very excited and happy!!!

We're looking forward to the next IPY Day.

Esse dia foi maravilhoso, ver tantos estudantes juntos, cantando, por uma causa... Simplismente fantÃ¡stico!
Devemos agradecer imensamente Ã nossa querida professora Miriam, que nos trouxe o projeto.
E espero nos prÃ³ximos anos poder fazer mais e mais, conscientizando sempre o maior nÃºmero possÃvel de pessoas.
ParabÃ©ns a todos os organizadores do projeto, e aos que participaram nÃ£o sÃ³ do dia, mas que estÃ£o conscientes do risco que corremos.

It was an honor to work with our teacher Miriam, especially because it was for the environment.
I really hope that this seed sprouts quickly and strongly in Brazil because unfortunatelly a lot of people still don't care about the Earth, our true home.
Learning about the poles and the problems concerning sea ice became more close to us with that experience.
Thanks to Miriam for getting us involved.
We'll still do our best.

The concern about the IPY Day reached all the students at our school, and we did our best to make our presentation in a great way.
Of course that it wouldn't be possible without the lead of our English teacher, Ms. Miriam Hebling.
We hope to be able to do it again on the next IPY Day, and involving more people as we can.
For me it was an honour to be part of this group, specially now that I've seen this new link here.
We should keep doing our best for this cause.

It was a fantastic moment! My teacher Mirian organized everything and got so involved in this project that some of my friends encouraged her to sing the song in the school gym, everybody together.
It was a memorable day, which Iâ€™ll never forget. She showed us that we could participate in the IPY Day anywhere we are and she transmit a positive image of Brazil abroad.

This project has been an amazing experience to improve our sense of awareness, once this is such an enormous environment project.
Thus, it was really touching that there were plenty of people keen on this topic. In addiction, school showed that we from Brazil also care about this concern.

PS: it's kind of weird to see pictures of my friends displayed on international blogs though!
