Sailor of the RRS James Clark Ross Awarded the Merchant Navy Medal

Chief Petty Officer J.W. Summers, Deck Officer of the RRS James Clark Ross (British Antarctic Survey) has been awarded the Merchant Navy Medal for polar exploration and scientific research. Since its institution in 2005, Summers is the only recipient of the award for work in the polar regions.
