The U.S. Postal Service will issue a souvenir sheet of two 84-cent international letter rate stamps which will also be issued as a pane of 20 under the title ‘Polar Lights’. In 1958, the United States issued a three-cent stamp to commemorate the International Geophysical Year 1957-58.
Canada Post will issue its set of two stamps on February 12th. Sweden will release its stamps on January 24, and Norway will release a pair of IPY stamps on February 25th.
You can see images of all the planned releases on the Danish IPY website.

I'm excited over Canada Post's issue, coming out on Feb. 12. The pair of stamps, in sheet format and on a souvenir sheet, will be issued at IGLOOLIK, NUNAVUT, the first time any stamp has been issued there.
