All through the Arctic Arc expedition (from February to June 2007), teaching tools, multimedia animations, picture galleries, interactive questions, short videos and educational activities will enable classes to discover the following themes:
- Polar Regions
- Polar sciences
- Water and ice on earth
- Oceans and biodiversity
- Climate change, Energies and natural resources
- Man and climate change
These educational activities and resources are available both in English and in French on the EducaPoles website.
Scientific activities
In the framework of the CryoSat-2 mission to be launched in 2009 by the European Space Agency, the Arctic Arc expedition will contribute to the scientific community by gathering in situ measurements. These data will allow validation of the CryoSat-2 calculations used to estimate the amount of snow present at the Poles.
This expedition can also offer a good gateway into contemporary cutting edge polar science.
