This US Environmental Protection Agency site contains a wealth of information for both adults and students for understanding the science behind global warming, greenhouse gases and the impacts of climate change. There are articles, animations, games, a carbon calculator, and links to many other web resources and teacher lesson plans.
Activity: Using the article titled “Climate” to introduce students to the basics of climate change science. Lead the class to explore the topic further with these activities for kids. Then divide students into cooperative learning groups and assign each group an impact article from this link. Have groups use the information and other research to develop a presentation for the class. To test the class’ knowledge, take the “Test Your Knowledge” quiz on the button at the bottom of this page.
