IPY was featured strongly during the 2007 International Science Summer School held in Sydney in June 2007. 140 senior high school students from 10 countries gathered for 2 weeks to learn about cutting edge aspects of "Eco-Science".
The ISS website has videos of the many great polar presentations, feedback from students, and book chapters for download.
One of these chapters focusses specifically on IPY and contains a good overview for teachers and students.
